30,000 individuals experience homelessness in Baltimore each year and at least 3,000 experience it each day!
Let's work to eliminate homelessness and poverty TOGETHER.
Alternative Spring Break 2017- Homelessness Trip A Project of Campus Life
Alternative Spring break is a week-long, student-led service retreat which engages students in different social issues and explores how communities are tackling them! This spring, the Homelessness Trip will be addressing the social issues surrounding homelessness while serving in the Baltimore community.
We will be working with nonprofit organizations in the city, including Paul's Place, Manna House, Project PLASE, to help provide resources, meals, and services to individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty. We also aim to learn about the underlying causes of homelessness and how we can facilitate real change both now and in the future!
This is a cause many people are passionate about, but we understand that busy schedules can be a barrier to volunteering-- so supporting this experience is a great way to get involved and help support your community with just a few minutes.
Help us make change!
Your donation will provide this service-learning experience for 12 students, including lodging, food, and transportation. The cost for one student to participate in this life-changing experience is just $56.25. Any donation amount helps us immensely, and any additional funds raised will go towards future ASB Homelessness trips. By empowering students, we empower the community!
All contributions raised are administered by the UMBC Foundation for the benefit of UMBC.
