UMBC Bio-Ethics Bowl 2017 A Project of Student Organizations
Bringing Ethical Debate to the UMBC Community
The UMBC Ethics Bowl Team provides an open forum to further the examination of issues involving practical and professional ethics within the format of an intercollegiate debate competition.
The Bioethics Bowl, which is similar to a debate, requires students to work through the ethical considerations in a series of dilemmas. At this tournament, the team will consider ethical questions related to biology. Teams are judged on their factual grasp of the nuances of difficult cases, the clarity of their moral reasoning, and their ability to express their judgments clearly.
Help us get to the National Bioethics Bowl!
We have been working all semester toward the national competition, and are ready to hit the road to Weber State University in Utah this April.
Some of the funding for our trip to the national competition has been provided by university, the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and by the Department of Philosophy-- but we need your help to meet our goal.
